Deacon Joseph

Congratulations to parishioner Joseph Gulliford who, on Saturday 3rd July, was ordained a deacon at St John’s Seminary in Wonersh as part of his journey to becoming a priest.  Joseph has been studying at the seminary for the past five years, and next year will be ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Southwark.

A few words from Joseph:

I am so excited to take this big step in giving my life to God and His people in service of His kingdom. Please pray for me – it’s a big big challenge but with His grace anything is possible. I have been at Seminary for five years and I am so grateful for all who have helped me to grow and learn so much over this time, not to mention my parents and family who I owe so much to for getting here. I journey onwards now to Priesthood.

I also say a sad farewell to our beloved St John’s in Wonersh. A place that has trained so many for over 130 years.

And thank you to all of you who have been praying for me – you are amazing and I am so, so grateful.

Glory to God in all things (1 Cor 10:31)!
