Sir Emmanuel Azuka Chuks Obanye was born in Asaba, Delta State in Nigeria.  He attended the University of Ife where he graduated in 1968 in Economics & Political Science.  He worked at West Africa Distillery, Lagos, as Marketing Manager until 1977, then ran his own company until 1999 when he relocated to the UK with his family. My Forthcoming Ordination

My Forthcoming Ordination

I am now able to let you know that Archbishop John Wilson has accepted my petition to be ordained as a priest. The ordination is scheduled for St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, on Saturday 15th July at 12.30pm and will be followed by the traditional blessings and a buffet lunch in Amigo Hall.

Mary’s Transition

The Assumption of Our Lady as a dogma of faith was formally defined by Pope Pius XII with the Apostolic Constitution, Munificentissimus Deus on 1 November 1950. The essential passage was:

We pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-Virgin Mary, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory.
