{"id":596,"date":"2021-03-09T15:18:31","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T15:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saintstephens.co.uk\/blog\/?p=596"},"modified":"2021-03-09T15:32:32","modified_gmt":"2021-03-09T15:32:32","slug":"year-of-st-joseph","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.saintstephens.co.uk\/blog\/year-of-st-joseph\/","title":{"rendered":"Year of St Joseph"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pope Francis declared a year devoted to St Joseph starting on 8<sup>th<\/sup> December 2020.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Parishioner Desmond Miller published a booklet &#8220;St Joseph: His Life and Mission&#8221; in 2017, which some of you will have read.\u00a0 For those who didn&#8217;t obtain a copy, here is a link to it: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saintstephens.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/St-Joseph-Booklet-4-July-2017.pdf\">St Joseph Booklet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>St Stephen&#8217;s cannot celebrate this special year with a variety of services and activities due to the restrictions, however Canon Edward is pleased to be able to have a special Novena to St Joseph.\u00a0 The Novena Masses will begin on Wednesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> March at 7.00pm, and will continue daily until Friday 19<sup>th<\/sup> March, when we will celebrate the Feast of St Joseph.\u00a0 There will be a short reflection given by the Mill Hill Fathers, and the following prayer from the Pope&#8217;s Apostolic Letter, <em>Patris Corde (<\/em>With a Father&#8217;s Heart), will be prayed each day after Mass.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,<\/em><br \/><em>Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.<\/em><br \/><em>To you God entrusted his only Son;<\/em><br \/><em>In you Mary placed her trust;<\/em><br \/><em>With you Christ became man.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Blessed Joseph, to us too,<\/em><br \/><em>show yourself a father<\/em><br \/><em>and guide us in the path of life.<\/em><br \/><em>Obtain for us the grace, mercy and courage, <\/em><br \/><em>and defend us from every evil.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Please call to mind your special intentions\u2026<br \/><em>St. Joseph, Pray for us.<\/em><br \/><em>Our Father\u2026., Hail Mary\u2026., Glory be to the <\/em><br \/><em>Father\u2026., Amen<\/em><\/p>\n<h5>Our Lady of America and St Joseph<\/h5>\n<p>Dr Mark Miravalle has an interesting 25 minute talk on St Joseph. He refers to the apparitions of Sr Mary Neuzil concerning Our Lady of America and St Joseph, and a recent document in which a commission of five Archbishops decided that there is insufficient objective evidence as yet to say that these apparitions are of supernatural origin.
